The concrete industry is a major source of carbon dioxide emissions worldwide. It is estimated to account for about 8% of human-caused CO₂ emissions. Concrete manufacturer Lakka wanted to do better for the climate as well.

Carbonaide® is a pioneer whose technology allows carbon dioxide to be permanently bound into Laka’s concrete products.

Thanks to transparency and measurability, the climate impact is not left to guesswork, as the impacts of the products and the amount of carbon dioxide sequestered are known precisely. The process also strengthens the concrete’s structure, so we can significantly reduce the amount of cement in our products while maintaining at least the same level of quality.

A Do-Gooder as Tough as Concrete

The first phase of the solution involves Lakka IKI pavers and garden stones manufactured using revolutionary Carbonaide technology, in which carbon dioxide is permanently bound using this unique technology.
