Fabrik designed a visual identity for the 2023 Huiput of the Year competition that emphasizes diversity and inclusivity. A central element of the identity is a variety of hands that, when combined, form the competition’s iconic pyramid, symbolizing an inexhaustible source of creativity.
Starting Point
Vuoden Huiput is undeniably Finland’s most significant creative design competition. That’s why we at Fabrik were so thrilled when we were asked to design the visual identity for Vuoden Huiput in 2024. Few people receive such an honor during their careers.
Solution
From the very beginning, it was clear to us that our future identity must take a stand and make an impact so that we can promote positive change in the world. Diversity is the force that drives our world forward. Instead of isolating ourselves and shouting from our silos, we wanted to create an identity that brings different worlds together. An identity that manifests diversity as an inexhaustible source of creativity. We got the idea from a variety of hands that, when they come together, form the iconic pyramid of Vuoden Huippuja while also reflecting inclusivity and equality. The resulting identity is both recognizable and endlessly adaptable through dozens of different combinations.

Results
The visual identity for Vuoden Huiput, which champions diversity, has already garnered praise. Our collaboration with Grafia on this project continues, and during the first few months of 2024, the visual identity will be rolled out across dozens of different formats, including pre-event marketing, the yearbook, the awards gala, and exhibitions.
